As a Referral Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing patient referrals, verifying insurance information, and ensuring timely scheduling of care. Compensation: $16 – $18 per hour

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in referral coordination or patient scheduling
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, authorizations, and medical terminology
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and process incoming patient referrals accurately and efficiently
  • Contact patients to schedule initial evaluations
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits related to referrals
  • Coordinate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to obtain authorizations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the EHR system
  • Communicate referral status updates to patients and healthcare providers
  • Follow up on pending referrals to ensure timely scheduling and completion
  • Resolve referral-related issues or discrepancies as needed
